1541. Conspiracy To Kill Or Kidnap The President -- 18 U.S.C. 1751

Section 1751(d) of Title 18 is identical to the general conspiracy statute (18 U.S.C. § 371) except that it is limited to the two objects of killing or kidnapping individuals designated in subsection (a). This section does not preclude prosecution under the general conspiracy statute, but merely provides an increased penalty where the object of the conspiracy is to kill or kidnap individuals designated in subsection (a). Cf. United States v. Bazzell, 187 F.2d 878, 885 (7th Cir.), cert. denied, 342 U.S. 849 (1951).
