6.1 - Requests for Records of Proceedings (ROP)
Parties to a proceeding and their legal representatives may inspect EOIR’s official record of proceedings in the case by making prior arrangements with court or Board staff. A FOIA request is not required to access the record of proceedings for an active case. For information on how to obtain a copy of your ROP, see EOIR’s Request a Record of Proceeding (ROP) webpage. EOIR prohibits the removal of official records by parties or other persons from EOIR-controlled space. Non-parties to a proceeding must file a FOIA request with the EOIR Office of General Counsel if they wish to inspect or obtain copies of the record of proceedings.
